The sacred valley tour is one of the typical and famous tour in cusco region, the road north from cusco climbing up to as pass undulating across the pampa and then descends dramatically in to the spectacular, fertile Urubamba valley, which is also known as the valle sagrado (sacred valley). The Incas built their palaces, religious centers alongside of this giant tributary of the amazon river, include the citadel of pisac and ollantaytambbo, such as salineras and moray are also here. The region is considered sacred because its vital importance to Cusco, the area is rich in history so it’s worth allocating several days to explore it fully.
Pick you up at your hotel at 8:00am. Then we head towards the Sacred Valley of the Incas by minivan. Our first stop is a famous lookout from where we can enjoy amazing views on the tremendous flat farming area and the Urubamba river. Next we drive to the Inca citadel of Pisac, where we will see the huge agriculture farming area, store houses and the Inca’s cemetery. After you will explore the ruins by yourself, we will visit the local market downtown Pisac. Here you can buy some local souvenirs and see different beautiful handicrafts.
In the town of Urubamba we will have a stop to eat an organic buffet lunch and then continue our ride until we reach the town of Ollantaytambo. Here we visit another impressive Inca construction and our tour guide will give us more information about this place and the Incas history and show us the most important places. Once we have finished exploring this amazing Inca citadel, we return to Cusco. If you stay in the Sacred Valley, please tell the guide and we will leave you off at your hotel.
